You may have some questions about counseling.

Q: HOW DO I initiate services?

A: Email Ally@friscocounselingandwellness.com or call the office at 972-380-1842 to get the first session scheduled. Once scheduled, portal information (including paperwork needed prior to the first appointment) will be sent to your email.

Q: HOW much does counseling cost?

A: Please call or email Ally to inquire about her current fees.  Ally does offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments during daytime hours if you are unable to afford her current fee. These sliding scale rates, if available, are based on proven financial need.

Q: is counseling in-network with insurance?

A: Ally is out-of-network with all insurance. The office can provide superbill receipts that many clients choose to submit themselves for possible out-of-network reimbursement or to go towards their deductible (varying by plan). Many clients also choose to use their healthcare/flexible spending account (HSA/FSA) cards as payment.

Q: What can i expect at my first session?

A:  Prior to your appointment, please complete all paperwork sent to you through the portal. If an in-person appointment, please take a seat and make yourself comfortable in the waiting room and wait for Ally to take you back for your appointment. If a TeleHealth appointment, please log onto the provided link at your appointment time and wait for Ally to start the session. You and Ally will discuss your completed New Client paperwork, the process of counseling, your reasons for seeking counseling, and tentative counseling goals.  If you are seeking counseling for your child, the first session is for parents only so that you have the opportunity to meet Ally and discuss paperwork and concerns. The second appointment will be the child’s first session with Ally.

Q: HOW long is a session and how often will I meet with a counselor?

A: An average individual session lasts 45 minutes. Some 60 minute and 90 minute appointments available at additional charge.  In most cases, Ally encourages her clients to meet with her weekly or biweekly to help create positive change.  Frequency of sessions depends on the severity of the issues, counseling goals, and other logistical factors.

Q: HOW LONG WILL I BE IN COUNSELING?

A: The length of time a client is in counseling depends on several factors, including the nature of the problem, the goals of counseling, the client's willingness to actively participate, and outside influences (such as support from family).

Q: what if i have to cancel my counseling session?

A: Once an appointment is scheduled, that time is reserved for you. There is no charge for any session cancelled with at least 24-hour notice prior to the scheduled appointment. Sessions cancelled with less than 24-hour notice will be assessed the full fee.
